Kristin Bianchi, PhD
Narrative of Services:
My primary clinical specialties are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) such as compulsive hair-pulling, skin-picking, and/or nail-biting. I treat all variants of OCD, including classic (intrusive thoughts and compulsive behavioral rituals), Tourettic (nervous system-driven), and disgust-driven (e.g., moral scrupulosity, intrusive sexually-themed ideation, and self- and other-harm ideation). I conduct sessions in my office and in vivo, including home visits, and I frequently participate as a team member in accelerated treatment and/or intensive treatment protocols. The more creative and collaborative that my patients and I can be together, the better!
I have been treating adult, adolescent, and child patients living with OCD and OCD Spectrum Disorders for 8+ years, and am a graduate of the Professional Training Institute (PTI) of the Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC). I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington, where I remained a staff member for an additional 4 1/2 years. I have continued to specialize in treating OCD and OCD Spectrum Disorders at the Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change (CABC) since joining the practice in March 2016.
