Narrative of Services:

I would estimate that approximately 75% of my practice is treating OCD and related disorders including hoarding disorder, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat co-occurring depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety disorders including panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, and specific phobias. My treatment approach is to use primarily cognitive behavioral therapy with an emphasis on exposure, including exposure and response prevention to treat OCD as well as imaginal and in vivo exposure to treat PTSD and anxiety disorders. I also have extensive experience using motivational interviewing to treat substance abuse disorders, and I use this approach to form collaborative relationships with clients in treating OCD and related disorders.

Training Description:

I completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston under the supervision of a faculty member with extensive experience in using cognitive behavioral therapy to treat anxiety-related disorders, including the use of exposure and response prevention to treat OCD. I have been in private practice for more than 20 years with an emphasis on treating OCD and anxiety disorders. During this time, I attended workshops at the IOCDF conference whenever the conference was offered in Houston, and I attended OCD-related workshops at the annual conference of the Texas Psychological Association.
