Narrative of Services:

At CalmOCD we treat individuals ages 9 and up with obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, and co-occurring depression. CalmOCD is a very action-oriented treatment geared to obtaining results through Exposure Response Prevention treatment, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. We teach OCD sufferers the problem with OCD is not in fact the anxiety, but their compulsive behavior. Patients can learn they can, in fact, tolerate distress and stop running away from their fears.
We offer single sessions, family sessions, in-home services, and an intensive track.

Training Description:

I have worked as a therapist for the past 10 years. In the last 5 years, I have worked as an OCD and anxiety specialist under James Sterner, director of The Gateway Institute. I have also attended two IOCDF conferences. I have treated OCD patients from the ages of 10 all the way up to 75 years old. Offering both IOP level of care (completed 1,785 hours of IOP’s) and even more of single outpatients sessions. Treated individuals with moderate level OCD and the majority with severe or extreme OCD symptoms.

Diversity Statement:

I have received extensive education in cultural diversity through my coursework in my bachelors degree (sociology), masters degree (community counseling), and doctorate degree (general psychology). The majority my work in treating diverse population came from my work in child welfare after my masters program. I provided in-home family therapy to families at risk of losing their children. This provided great opportunities for me to work with individuals and families that were very different than things I experienced before. Most families were low-income and from a minority group. I often worked with a translator which also provided me with exposure.
