My practice is highly specialized in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related conditions, and I have extensive clinical experience providing evidence-based treatment (primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention) for these conditions.
When OCD co-occurs with anxiety disorders, treatment focuses on the shared patterns of avoidance, fear, and safety behaviors that maintain symptoms. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients gradually face feared thoughts, situations, and uncertainty while resisting compulsions and avoidance. Treatment includes psychoeducation about OCD and anxiety, collaborative exposure planning, and building tolerance for distress. Cognitive strategies may be used to address unhelpful beliefs that reinforce anxiety and OCD cycles.
I have been treating individuals with OCD and anxiety disorders since 2007. I received my graduate training (MA and PhD) at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University, where I received specialized training in evidence-based treatments for OCD and anxiety. I continued my training at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School. I have treated hundreds of children and adolescents with OCD and anxiety disorders in hospital and private practice settings and continue ongoing professional education to remain current with evidence-based treatments.
