Susan W. Crater LCSW
Owner, Psychtherapist
My practice specializes in evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related disorders. Approximately 5% of my caseload is dedicated to treating individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and OC-Related Disorders. I have successfully treated 25 people with OCD. I also offer services for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder.
I graduated from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2012, with prior experience from an inpatient psychiatric hospital internship and community mental health. My specialized training includes a 2016 Maternal Mental Health Online Training focusing on perinatal anxiety, depression, OCD, and loss. I completed CEU workshops at Rogers Behavioral Health in 2017 (Tampa, FL) and attended the Psychotherapy Networker conference in 2018 and 2019. I furthered my expertise completing the 2024 Virtual BTTI (December 5-9) and FWBC Training with Alec Pollard (12/24) adding up to 14 years of practice treating OCD patients. I am currently in private practice.
My practice serves a broad range of multicultural populations, and has included clients aged 5-89, from all socioeconomic strata. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, multi-racial clients, and those with diverse faith and belief systems. My foundational training from my MSW program emphasized multicultural competence, and I consistently engage in ongoing training for state licensure to ensure I provide culturally sensitive and effective care to all clients.
