Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
The most common co-occurring disorders I treat with OCD include anxiety disorders, depressive disorders and post traumatic stress disorder. The treatment approach would be to develop a treatment strategy (CBT, ERP, etc) to address symptoms relating to each disorder.
Experience working with OCD patients in an in-patient and private practice setting since 2005.
Trained in Exposure Response Prevention, a form of CBT through Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI).
Regularly attend OCD training/workshops with International OCD Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Completed training for Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
Diversity Statement:
The city of Houston is known for its melting pot of cultures, races, religions and ethnicities. So as a therapist serving this population, I understand the importance of cultural competency and working with diverse populations.
My graduate program stressed the ability of a clinician to be able to differentiate between behaviors that is consistent with group norms versus behavior that is excessive and psychopathological in nature. I continue my education in this area as a licensed therapist with attending trainings and consulting with other authoritative sources.
