Narrative of Services:
At any given time, 30-50% of the individuals I see are being treated for OCD or an OC-spectrum disorder. I offer a warm, collaborative, results-driven approach to addressing OCD, using cognitive-behavioral therapy with a strong emphasis on exposure and response prevention. My goal is for patients to feel confident, knowledgeable, and capable. I especially enjoy working with children and families and love opportunities to empower caregivers to help their children address what can feel like overwhelming circumstances.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I have additional expertise in treating anxiety (social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic, etc.), depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders of childhood. Many if not most of the folks I work with present with co-occurring challenges alongside their OCD.
Training Description:
I have been treating patients with OCD for over a decade, having trained at some of the most well-regarded OCD specialty centers in the country, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Weill-Cornell Medical Center, and NYU Child Study Center. I’ve been fortunate to train under many pioneers in the field of OCD research and clinical practice, several of whom serve on IOCDF’s Scientific Advisory Board.
My experience includes therapy in outpatient settings, inpatient psychiatric units, clinical research trials, and intensive outpatient formats. OC-spectrum conditions are also a focal point of my research, and I’ve authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on this topic.
Diversity Statement:
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and a significant portion of my practice is focused on working with transgender or non-binary youth and young adults. Many of these individuals work with me on anxiety and related issues that may or may not involve gender identity in some capacity.
I have completed specialized training in working with transgender/non-binary youth who struggle with mental health challenges through the Gender and Sexuality Program at NYU Children’s Hospital/Child Study Center. I’ve additionally undergone training in working with transgender communities through the organization Trans Affirming Training & Consulting (formerly known at the Transgender Training Institute).
