Megan Davis LCSW, PMH-C
Perinatal Mental Health Therapist
I provide outpatient telehealth for clients experiencing OCD, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and perfectionism both during and outside of the perinatal period. Over 50% of my clients are seeking services specifically for OCD and approximately 75% have perinatal OCD. I have been working with individuals with OCD with supervision for over 10 years and in the past 5 years have focused on getting trained in ERP and ACT for perinatal OCD.
I have been working with clients, specifically parents in the perinatal period with OCD for about 5 years. I have participated in ERP consultation groups, attended ERP for OCD workshops by Dr. Jonathan Abramowitz and Ben Eckstein, LCSW, as well as the intensive 4 day ERP for OCD workshop through Cognitive Behavioral Institute (taught by Dr. Alissa Jerud). Additionally, I have completed Perinatal OCD Level II training through Postpartum Stress Center.
I have past experience working with a wide variety of individuals ranging from children through older adults. My past experience in community mental health, both in NC and outside of Washington, D.C. allowed me to gain skills and insight into understanding my own implicit/explicit biases as I supported individuals from very diverse cultures, countries of origin, religions, ethnicities, and SES. I take cultural competency training annually and engage in continued peer consultation to keep my biases in check.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I developed an early foundation of “person- in- context”, meaning that one needs to take biological, psychological, spiritual, environmental, and social contexts into account when supporting clients. I take cultural competency training annually and engage in continued peer consultation to keep my biases in check. I also use a person-centered approach which emphasizes collaboration and client-centered treatment.
