Narrative of Services:

My practice specializes in Exposure and Prevention (ERP) Therapy for OCD. Often, I bring in additional therapeutic approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for increasing psychological flexibility, compassion-focused approaches to target shame and guilt that can often co-occur with symptoms of OCD, or Motivational Interviewing to build client motivation. I typically deliver ERP treatment in once-weekly 45-minute sessions, but options for more intensive formats (e.g., 90-minute sessions or multiple sessions per week) are available as needed. I also have experience working with body focused repetitive behaviors (hair pulling, skin picking), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), OCPD, and perfectionism.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Many of my clients have co-occurring disorders, including panic disorder and/or agoraphobia, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, major depressive disorder, insomnia, trauma, disordered eating, or OCPD. In these cases, I incorporate the evidence-based treatments (most often, CBT or ACT) available for these co-occurring disorders alongside ERP for OCD.

Training Description:

I completed my PhD at Yale University, and continued to develop an expertise in OCD during a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at The Reeds Center, which specializes in the treatment of OCD and OCD Spectrum Disorders. I am now a licensed psychologist and co-director of a group practice, Flatiron CBT, where I regularly work with patients with OCD, and train and supervise other clinicians in ERP. Over the last 10 years, I have received intensive training in ERP, CBT, and ACT from experts in the field of OCD. I also have experience working with body-focused-repetitive-behaviors (hair pulling, skin picking) using HRT.
