Narrative of Services:
I have been treating OCD and related disorders since 2018. I offer outpatient therapy services in-person (in Chicago) and virtually in IL, WI and FL. I work exclusively with anxiety and O-C related conditions. About 65% of my clients have a diagnosis of OCD, while others may be dealing with social anxiety, panic disorder, GAD, illness anxiety, sport performance anxiety, BFRBs, or other O-C related anxiety. I apply cognitive behavioral interventions including ERP, mindfulness based and ACT approaches, and have recently begun offering ICBT with a few cases.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I work with OCD that co-occurs with BFRBs, ADHD, panic disorder and phobias, depression, athlete mental health and sport performance anxiety. I integrate client-focused, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, executive functioning skills, and dialectical behavioral methods.
Training Description:
I began attending introductory courses on treating OCD with ERP in 2017 and completed the BTTI in 2019. I attended the IOCDF advanced consultation group in 2024, led by Jon Hershfield. I continue to read up to date research and access OCD resources. I have also completed training for BDD through MGH and for BFRBs through the TLC foundation. I participate in local monthly advanced peer consultation groups.
Diversity Statement:
I recognize the importance of being culturally competent as a mental health professional and frequently reflect on my impact as a therapist. In my educational training, I have studied multiculturalism and researched disparities in healthcare. I hold a Master of Art in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies in addition to my psychology and counseling degrees. I regularly seek out continuing education opportunities that support anti-racist, LGBTQ allied, and HAES aligned values in therapy. I also live with a chronic illness and through my own challenges, I have learned the importance of advocacy work for patients in need.
