My practice offers specialized treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders, with particular expertise in thought-based OCD (“Pure O”). While I treat a full range of OCD presentations, the majority of my clients struggle primarily with mental compulsions, including intrusive thoughts, rumination, reassurance-seeking and intolerance of uncertainty. I also specialize in working with co-occurring substance use and perinatal mood & anxiety disorders. In addition to OCD, I provide treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and social anxiety.
I work with individuals whose OCD co-occurs with depression, substance use or other anxiety disorders. In many cases, depression or substance use develops in response to intrusive thoughts, uncertainty and avoidance related to OCD. Treatment focuses on addressing OCD directly while also supporting mood stability and healthier coping skills.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training and clinical experience in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. My work is grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have provided OCD treatment in specialized and intensive settings, including The Gateway Institute, an intensive outpatient program for OCD, with ongoing ERP-focused supervision and consultation. My background also includes residential and outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment for substance use disorders. I am certified through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
