Nearly 100% of my caseload has OCD or an OCD related disorder. I primarily utilize ERP to treat people with OCD and sometimes inject bits of ACT where appropriate. A majority of my patients have a co-occuring disorder and we’ll dive into traditional CBT or ComB when needed.
I treat OCD, anxiety, phobias, depression, bipolar disorder, and picking/pulling. If these co-occur we’ll determine which is most bothersome and prioritize our work in such a way to maximize relief. Continued assessment will ensure we’re placing our focus where it needs to be.
I completed the ERP for OCD intensive at the Cognitive Behavioral Institute as well as their training on body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). Additionally, I’ve completed a training with the creator of ComB (Comprehensive Behavioral Treatment) for BFRBs. I’ve completed trainings conducted by those affiliated with the IOCDF on general OCD content, differential diagnosis, co-occurring disorders, and working with specific OCD subtypes.
I’m committed to practicing from a social justice perspective. This comes into play especially when certain OCD subtypes arise including: pedophilia, other sexual obsessions, sexual orientation, gender identity, and scrupulosity. I will never ask anyone to complete exposures that violate their values or play into harmful beliefs.
I’ve completed stand alone cultural competency trainings and trainings that address cultural considerations around the treatment of OCD and co-occurring disorders.
