Cathy Goldstein Mullin LICSW
I have a private practice in Wenham, Mass where I see children, teens and adults. I understand OCD as I lived with this brutal beast for sixteen years. Years after recovery, I began treating others who struggle greatly. I have the greatest respect for the pain that those with this disorder must bear. I use CBT and ERP, but also believe that one has to be in touch with one’s underlying beliefs, as it is on these beliefs that OCD feeds. in 2016, I published From Tortured to Almost Free: A Psychiatric Therapist’s Life with OCD.
I am an LICSW and hold a Masters in Social Work. My best training came from the sixteen years that I lived with severe OCD. It was during that time that I learned just what the internal world of this beast was like and the odd components that make up the disorder. I also have read extensively on OCD, attended numerous anxiety and OCD workshops, including ones at the OCD conference in Boston. Also, in 2016, I published a book titled From Tortured to Almost Free: A Psychiatric Therapist’s Life with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
