My practice is highly specialized in the treatment of OCD and related conditions. The majority of my clinical work is dedicated to helping individuals with OCD and OC-related disorders. I provide evidence-based, compassionate care using proven treatment approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with integrative methods including ACT, I-CBT, and DBT skills. My services include comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, with family involvement incorporated when appropriate. My goal is to help clients build lasting skills and meaningful change in their daily lives.
I treat primary OCD, anxiety disorders, body-focused repetitive behaviors, tic/Tourette’s disorders, and PTSD. I also work with many clients who present with co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and depression. After an initial intake phone call and comprehensive assessment, I develop a personalized treatment plan using evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ERP, DBT skills training, ACT, ICBT, and CBIT. For children and adolescents, I generally involve parents or families as appropriate.
I received specialized training in the treatment of OCD, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, Tourette’s Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders as a postdoctoral fellow and staff psychologist at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington. My training included intensive supervised practice in ERP, CBT, and CBIT, as well as specialized assessment and treatment of complex and co-occurring presentations. I continue to engage in advanced workshops, continuing education, and peer consultation specific to OCD and OC-related disorders to maintain best practices in the field, including training in ICBT.
I earned my doctoral degree at The Catholic University of America (CUA), with a concentration in Children, Families, and Culture. After attaining my PhD, I lived abroad, providing therapy to individuals and families from over 20 countries through both private practice and my work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. My clinical work has included individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, linguistic, socioeconomic, and immigration backgrounds. I celebrate diversity and am committed to providing culturally competent and sensitive care to individuals of all backgrounds and identities.
