OCD disorders comprise the majority of my caseload (over 50%). To date, I have treated 22 individuals with OCD, with 15 achieving subclinical symptom levels, 4 showing marked improvement, and 3 showing limited response. I utilize ERP as the primary treatment modality, tailored to each client’s presentation and co-occurring conditions. I also utilized psycho education, CBT, and RF-ERP.
I provide integrated treatment for OCD alongside co-occurring conditions including ADD/ADHD, anxiety disorders, ASD, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and Tics/Tourettes. OCD remains the primary focus, with co-occurring conditions addressed within the same treatment framework using ERP as the core modality. When appropriate, I coordinate with other providers (psychiatrists, etc.) for comprehensive care. Treatment is individualized, with session structure adjusted based on which conditions are most actively impacting functioning.
I’ve specialized in treating OCD for the past 3 years. I am trained in ERP, and have done significant research into RF-ERP which I utilize often for pure O cases. I have battled OCD myself and understand the disorder intimately and throughly.
As a Middle Eastern therapist, I have a culturally attuned practice and naturally attract clients from immigrant, Arab, and Muslim backgrounds. I am familiar with the unique ways OCD presents within these communities, including religiously-themed obsessions (scrupulosity) and cultural stigma around mental health. A portion of my caseload includes clients from Middle Eastern and other multicultural backgrounds.
My lived experience as a Middle Eastern clinician informs my cultural competency. I have experience working with clients for whom religious and cultural factors are central to their OCD presentation, particularly scrupulosity. I adapt ERP to be sensitive to religious practice and cultural values, ensuring interventions are meaningful and acceptable within the client’s worldview.
