Melissa Jermann PhD
My private practice focuses on treating individuals with OCD, anxiety-related disorders, and trauma. Although I specialize in these issues I also address other life concerns that may be impacting a clients functioning.
I specialize in OCD, anxiety-related disorders (e.g., skin picking, social anxiety, panic disorder), and perfectionism. I also have training in working with trauma, depression, relationship issues, and personality disorders. I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) when necessary. My treatment structure begins with psychoeducation on the patient’s disorder, followed by skills work, and then the implementation of the targeted intervention.
I have received specialized training for OCD and anxiety-related disorders through my doctoral program. I completed 3 years of OCD training including my post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy in New York. I have a unique specialization in the comorbidity of OCD, specifically Pure-O, and perfectionism.
