I specialize in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, with particular expertise in perinatal mental health, especially Perinatal OCD. Approximately 90% of my practice is dedicated to individuals with OCD, including primarily obsessional (“Pure-O”) presentations, perinatal OCD and anxiety, and other anxiety-related and OC spectrum conditions. I also provide specialized treatment for body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including trichotillomania and excoriation disorder. In addition, I work with clients navigating grief, trauma, and relationship concerns, particularly when these challenges intersect with or are complicated by OCD.
When treating OCD with co-occurring conditions such as mood disorders, generalized anxiety, or ADHD, I take an integrated and carefully structured approach. I begin with an assessment and differential diagnosis to clarify how symptoms interact and influence one another. Treatment typically centers on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) while incorporating CBT, ACT, and executive functioning strategies as needed. I prioritize stabilization of mood and attentional symptoms when clinically indicated, while ensuring that OCD remains directly and appropriately treated. My goal is to provide coordinated, evidence-based care that addresses the full clinical picture without losing focus on the mechanisms maintaining OCD.
I have completed advanced post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) through the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) of the International OCD Foundation, the Cognitive Behavioral Institute, the CBT School, and PESI. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI). Additionally, I have participated in advanced individual and group consultation with nationally recognized OCD and anxiety specialists affiliated with the International OCD Foundation.
In my work with multicultural populations, I practice with cultural humility, clinical precision, and deep respect for each person’s identity and lived experience. I recognize how culture, family systems, faith traditions, immigration experiences, achievement pressures, and generational narratives can shape the way anxiety, OCD, and perinatal mental health concerns present. I prioritize culturally informed assessment and thoughtful differential diagnosis, ensuring treatment is both evidence-based and responsive to the individual. I remain mindful of systemic barriers and stigma that impact access to care and am committed to providing affirming, inclusive, and respectful treatment across diverse communities.
