Cynthia J. Keeran, PhD
Narrative of Services:
I am a clinician in private practice devoted to effective and compassionate treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders. Treatment modalities include CBT interventions, the type of therapy demonstrated by research to be the most effective for treating anxiety, and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) the “gold standard” psychological treatment for OCD. Other CBT interventions proven to be effective in the treatment of OCD are utilized including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness based strategies. I provide therapy both in-office, or out-of-office, depending on circumstances. I accept some insurance and also accept private pay. Approximately 80% my practice is comprised of individuals struggling with OCD and/or related disorders.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of OCD including training through the IOCDF (BTTI certified), frequent bi-weekly consultation with peers as well as experts in the field of OCD, totaling approximately 170 hours over the past seven years. In addition, I have attended national professional training events and conferences provided by the IOCDF and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) on OCD and related disorders.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder does not discriminate and is found worldwide across diverse populations, cultures, and ethnic groups. Providing therapy for individuals with OCD and other anxiety disorders for over seven years, a variety of individuals have found their way to my office. This has provided a rich experience of working with a wide range of individual differences. I strive to make everyone feel respected, honored, understood, and most of all welcome.
