Jami Kerr PsyD
About half of my patients struggle with OCD.
I am trained in various therapeutic techniques, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
I have extensive experience helping people with OCD, particularly those with intrusive thoughts around harm/violence, health concerns/contamination, perfectionist OCD, and relationship OCD. I help provide a supportive, collaborative treatment that engages evidence-based strategies to help you move forward in your life.
I specialize in working with queer, kinky and consensually non-monogamous individuals and couples. I have a particular interest in working with folks whose identities fall between binaries, such as being biracial, bisexual/pansexual or nonbinary.
Before joining Atwater Village Therapy, I worked in a variety of settings, such as a non-profit supporting individuals struggling with their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, a counseling center for adults involved in intimate partner violence or sexual trauma, a youth correctional facility, and an in-patient facility for individuals with severe mental health concerns. Through these experiences I developed a drive to help people overcome seemingly insurmountable circumstances.
