Narrative of Services:
I am the Director of the NYU Child Study Center Tics, Tourette’s, and Trichotillomania (T3) service, which is a part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone Health. In addition to T3 services, the NYU Child Study Center offers a broad range of mental health treatment services to children, adolescents, and families. Approximately half of my clinical caseload is currently comprised of OCD and/or related disorders.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
Dr. Knepley has extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to treating a broad range of disorders and integrates acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) into treatment when appropriate.
Training Description:
I have gone through the Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC) training for BFRBs and am listed as a credentialed/trained provider on bfrb.org (website is migrating to IOCDF.org). I have treated OCD across a wide range of ages via exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy (and incorporating ACT when appropriate) since 2016. Approximately half of my current therapy cases are OCD and/or related disorders, including tics, Tourette’s (I am a credentialed CBIT trained provider) and various BFRBs. I have also treated a wide range of anxiety disorders across all ages.
Diversity Statement:
I worked as a clinical psychology intern (last step of clinical psychology doctoral program training) at NYU/Bellevue Hospital from 2019-2020, during which I experienced working with an incredibly diverse population of patients. I have worked at NYU Child Study Center Since 2021 during which time I have continued to serve a diverse population of patients.
Throughout my training and professional practice, I have participated in many didactics, talks, and discussions oriented towards providing excellent clinical service while incorporating cultural competence.
