Regina Lazarovich PhD
Owner of Compass CBT Psychology, PC
My private practice, Compass CBT, is entirely focused on helping adults with OCD and related disorders. I have helped hundreds of clients break free from OCD over the course of my fifteen-year career.
I also treat disordered eating, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Orthorexia, Panic Disorder (panic attacks with or without agoraphobia), Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Phobias, Depression, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
I received comprehensive training and supervision in evidence-based treatments for OCD & related disorders during my Doctorate training at Hofstra University and expanded on it during postdoctoral training. In the decade since, I have helped hundreds of people feel better by using these techniques across hospital, university counseling center, community health center, and private practice settings. I approach Binge Eating Disorder and body image issues from Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating perspectives. I also incorporate Mindful Self-Compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while tailoring my approach to each client’s goals and needs.
As a refugee who immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 1995, I deeply honor multiculturalism and intersectionality. As a psychologist, I meet clients of different races, ethnicities, national origins, sexual orientations, gender identities, sizes, and disability statuses with respect. I honor these differences and consider the impact of systemic factors on mental health and well-being.
I received comprehensive training and supervision in evidence-based treatments for OCD & related disorders during my Doctorate training at Hofstra University and expanded on it during postdoctoral training. I stay current on new research developments and regularly participate in continuing education and consultation. In addition to Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I have specialized training in a newer evidence-based treatment for OCD called Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). I also incorporate Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while tailoring my approach to each client’s unique circumstances and goals.
