Narrative of Services:

Approximately 90% of Dr. Mattox’s therapy services involve treatment of OCD, tics/Tourette, trichotillomania, and general anxiety, though she does some “generalist” work as well, including treatment for depression, adjustment to life changes, and developing strategies for executive function deficits. Dr. Mattox also conducts comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to rule-out ADHD and ASD, which both have high rates of comorbidity with OC Spectrum Disorders. Treatment modalities used are primarily CBT, ERP, and CBIT/Habit Reversal Training, along with use of ACT principles and mindfulness training.

Training Description:

Dr. Mattox first learned to treat OCD and tics/Tourette in 2002 during her pre-doctoral internship at the UCLA Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Clinic under the supervision of a a current member of the IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board. Since that time, she has attended multiple additional intensive trainings, including the IOCDF BTTI training for OCD, SPACE training for parents of children with anxiety directly under the developer of the treatment, and CBIT training through the Behavior Therapy Institute/Tourette Association of America. Dr. Mattox is committed to ongoing consultation and specialized training to continually hone her skills.
