Hanna McCabe-Bennett Ph.D., C.Psych.
Approximately 25% of my current private practice is currently dedicated to providing OCD treatment, primarily from an Exposure and Response Prevention orientation with the inclusion of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques as appropriate. I have treated OCD, hoarding, and body-focused repetitive behaviours in at least 50 patients delivered in both individual and group therapy formats.
I have been treating OCD patients for 10 years. I have received supervision and clinical training at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton as a practicum student, psychology resident, and postdoctoral fellow. I have completed graduate level coursework in CBT and ERP. My doctoral dissertation was a project exploring the cognitive-behavioural model of Hoarding Disorder. I have given keynote addresses, workshops, and professional consultation about Hoarding Disorder.
As a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, I am required to engage in continuing education yearly that includes a focus on cultural competency and working with diverse populations. Most recently, I added numerous workshops about these topics at the annual convention for the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies.
