Narrative of Services:

The vast majority of the individuals I work with have OCD (approximately 90%). A number of these individuals have eating disorders. Many of those with OCD and a number of individuals in my practice without OCD struggle with anxiety disorders and/or Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). I have worked with numerous individuals with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). Some have co-occurring substance use disorders. Throughout my career, I have treated over 100 people with OCD and OC related disorders.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat individuals with co-occurring Eating Disorders. I am a certified Intuitive Eating counsellor, and I trained under the supervision of Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S, Fiaedp, FADA, FAND. I also have some training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E). My work with Eating Disorders is also informed by an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based Perspective.

I also work with people with co-occurring substance use disorders using an eclectic approach that involved ACT and Mindfulness-based interventions, Motivational Interviewing and CBT.

Training Description:

I was trained in the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for OCD and Anxiety Disorders at the OCD Center of Los Angeles. I have worked primarily with people with OCD for over six years.

Diversity Statement:

I have experience working with people of various backgrounds including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals from numerous racial and ethnic groups, and people who ascribe to a number of different faiths.

My Graduate education at Antioch University included many courses focused on cultural competence and mental health in diverse populations. I bring the education that I received into my work with individuals and prioritize providing care that is tailored to each person’s particular experiences at the intersection of their identities.
