Narrative of Services:
Rebekah Mennies, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and young adults with OCD and/or anxiety. She is a member of the Weill Cornell Pediatric OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders (POCAT) Program, where she specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She also has expertise and training in parent-focused interventions, including parent management training (PMT) for ADHD and the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) intervention for youth with OCD and/or anxiety. She also provides intensive treatment when indicated.
Training Description:
Dr. Mennies earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Temple University and completed her clinical internship training in child psychology at Duke University, where she gained early experience in offering ERP for OCD. She then spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Weill Cornell Medical College in the Pediatric OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders program. She has is trained in the treatment of OCD across multiple settings spanning partial hospitalization, intensive treatment models within outpatient clinics, and traditional outpatient care. Currently, Dr. Mennies is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Treatment Groups:
The group provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)/Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) skills, with a strong focus on exposure based treatment to target OCD and anxiety symptoms. It is intended for children and adolescents with a primary diagnosis of OCD and/or an anxiety disorder.
