Narrative of Services:

Dr. Eric Nicholson’s maintains an active private practice that typically includes about 50 % OCD and OCD spectrum disorders and Autism and Aspergers patients. Dr. Nicholson recognizes the role compulsions, including mental rituals and reassurance-seeking behaviors, can affect family life for his patients and therefore he seeks to address family accommodation and conflict by providing couples and family sessions for his patients. He also applies exposure-based therapies in the treatment of Social Phobia, Agoraphobia, Panic, and Generalized Anxiety. Training Description:

Dr. Nicholson is a Board Certified Child and Adolescent, Adult and Addiction Psychiatrist who has been treating OCD specifically with Exposure/Ritual Prevention therapy since 2002. Dr. Nicholson received direct supervision from a member of the IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board member for more than 5 years subsequent to BTI training. He understands how drugs and alcohol can complicate OCD spectrum disorders and must be both targeted for improvement. He has completed additional training through the IOCDF in the use of Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), addressing complicated patients and resistance to treatment, as well as hoarding disorder (HD).
