- LGBTQIA+ Affirming
Narrative of Services:
50-75% of my practice is focused on anxiety, including OCD and BFRBs.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I also treat co-occuring PTSD/trauma, complicated grief, depression; upon assessment and in collaboration with the client, I make a treatment plan that outlines how to address body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs)/OCD/anxiety in conjunction with the co-occuring conditions.
Training Description:
I have been in practice and treating anxiety related disorders for 13 years. I have trained with the top international anxiety/OCD experts at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine/UCLA Medical Center. I have additional specific training in evidence-based treatments specifically for body focused repetitive behaviors.
Diversity Statement:
I have a deep commitment to and additional expertise in working with LGBTQ populations. While I work with people from all backgrounds and identities, I offer additional expertise in affirming and knowledgeable care for LGBTQ+ adolescents, adults, and couples. I was part of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force to recently revise the Clinical Guidelines for Working with Sexual Minority Clients.
I am considered an expert in the field of LGBTQ affirming care. I was the co-founder and former Clinical Director of the UCLA EMPWR (“empower”) Program at the UCLA Medical Center through the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, which focuses on serving LGBTQ populations. I spent 8 years of my early career supervising and teaching advanced psychology and psychiatry trainees about LGBTQ affirming care before stepping down in 2025 to focus on expanding my own practice, which launched in 2018.
