Brittany Pfleghaar, PsyD

Psychologist
Narrative of Services:

I provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults. My clients would describe my approach in therapy as warm, genuine, and relational. I am goal-directed and efficient in session. I focus on equipping clients with tools and strategies to target their symptoms. OCD is the main focus of my practice with over 90% of my clients presenting with OCD or a related disorder.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to treat a wide variety of diagnoses that commonly co-occur with OCD, including: anxiety disorders, panic, phobias, PTSD, depression, insomnia, and ADHD.

Training Description:

I pursued doctoral training in clinical psychology within a medical school and therefore have developed unique expertise in the intersection of emotional, behavioral and physical concerns. I have completed clinical training at the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania – established by the founder of CBT. I have also pursued extensive doctoral training in treating OCD and anxiety disorders through the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) modalities. I have been treating clients presenting with OCD for 9 years.

Diversity Statement:

I have worked with clients of varying cultural backgrounds while in doctoral training in Philadelphia and in my clinical work in Minnesota. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for clients of all backgrounds to feel genuinely heard and understood.
