Mark A. Rainsdon, LCSW
Owner / Clinical Director

I specialize primarily in OCD and Anxiety, which make up over 80% of my practice. With over eight years of experience in this field of OCD treatment, I focus on the individual and their support system. True progress often involves teaching loved ones to identify accommodations and reassurance seeking that can inadvertently fuel anxiety. I guide families to recognize that showing love sometimes means supporting a client through the discomfort of growth rather than removing it.
At Crafted Calm, I specialize in the nuanced intersection of OCD, anxiety, and neurodiversity. Because there is no one-size-fits-all approach, we work together to distinguish between symptoms that often look alike; such as identifying the difference between an OCD compulsion and ADHD procrastination. While ERP is the gold standard for OCD, I recognize that generalized anxiety may require exploring past experiences rather jumping strait to ERP. By isolating the “why” behind your struggles, we can apply the right tool for the job, ensuring your treatment is as intentional and precise as your unique brain-wiring requires.
My OCD treatment journey began eight years ago at a residential program for adolescent boys. During my time there, I was privileged to attend the IOCDF’s BTTI course, the gold standard for OCD training. I eventually served as the Clinical Director of that same program before deciding to establish Crafted Calm Therapy. My goal is to provide that same high caliber of specialized treatment to the residents of Utah, bringing years of intensive residential experience into a private practice setting to help clients and families navigate the complexities of OCD.
