James P. Roehrig PhD
Staff Psychologist, California Psychology Center
The California Psychology Center is a group clinic focused on OCD and anxiety disorders, with about 60%-70% of individuals presenting for OCD treatment (other conditions we treat include anxiety, depression, and trauma). My practice offers detailed OCD assessment, as well as gold-standard OCD therapy (exposure and response prevention combined with elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and compassion-based approaches where appropriate to client needs). My practice offers weekly therapy, as well as more intensive options (2-3x/week) for individuals presenting with more severe symptoms or desiring faster symptom reduction.
I have 10+ years of experience working with individuals struggling with disordered eating among other conditions (anxiety, depression, etc.) and have recently begun working with individuals struggling with OCD. I am committed to utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I’m committed to providing therapy that honors each person’s unique cultural identity and life experience. Throughout my training, I’ve received supervision focused on culturally responsive care, and I continue to integrate that lens into my work.
