Kim Rottier PhD
A substantial portion of my practice is dedicated to the treatment of OCD and/or OC spectrum and related disorders. I love working with individuals with OCD. I engaged in a career change and pursued doctoral studies and sought out additional trainings and ongoing supervision from highly respected experts with this goal in mind. I am honored to be a treatment provider that specializes in working with individuals with OCD.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
In addition to working with all types of OCD, I also work with individuals with other or co-occurring disorders including depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, trauma, social anxiety, and ADHD.
I have over ten years of experience treating, researching, and teaching about obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. I worked at the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/ Columbia University, after which I joined The Anxiety and Depression Clinic and the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Clinic of Hofstra University as a graduate student for 5 years. I received further specialized postdoctoral training at The Reeds Center and worked there for 5 years before starting my private practice. I have been teaching clinical psychology postdoctoral trainees about OCD for the past two years at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s.
Diversity Statement:
I consider it a privilege to work with individuals of diverse racial, ethnic, religious, cultural, and national backgrounds. I am an LGBTQIA+ friendly provider, I welcome neurodiversity and individuals with all physical abilities. I respect all relationship and family structures in my practice. I think of our uniqueness as individuals as an asset and I look forward to learning more about you.
