I have treated several individuals with different types of OCD symptoms and have treated them successfully. Approximately half of my current practice is focused on working with individuals with OCD and related disorders.
I specialize in treatment of anxiety related disorders (such as generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, agoraphobia, panic disorder, health anxiety); OCD and related disorders; Post traumatic stress disorder; mood disorders; and borderline personality disorder. I provide evidence based treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention for anxiety and OCD related disorders, and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. In addition, I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and provide individual therapy and have facilitated skills groups in the past. Mindfulness techniques and Motivational Interviewing are part of my therapeutic processes.
I have trained with specialists in CBT and ERP treatment and researchers through graduate training at University of Wyoming and postdoc at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. I am also board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
I am a woman of color and immigrant myself and passionate about working with those of minority status. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups, with diversity in race, ethnicity, age, gender, and socio-economic status.
