I have treated 700 – 1000 patients with OCD over the course of my career, as well as several hundred patients with Hoarding Disorder, and hundreds with BDD, BFRB’s, and Tic Disorders. Currently, I am the psychiatrist for all adult patients at Rogers Behavioral Health-San Diego, which offers intensive treatment for OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, and related disorders, in our partial hospital program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). My current caseload is about 75-80% patients with OCD.
have extensive experience working with patients and families of many different ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds, as well as different sexual orientations. San Diego is a diverse and multicultural region, and my clinical and research programs work with a very diverse patient population. In addition, I both received and provided training in cultural competency in my many years as a faculty member in the UCLA School of Medicine and the UC San Diego Health System.
I have been treating patients with OCD and OC Spectrum Disorders for the last 28 years. I have treated over 1000 patients with OCD, Hoarding Disorder, BDD, Trichotillomania, and Skin Picking. I directed the UCLA OCD Research Program for 10 years, then directed the UC San Diego OCD Program for 14 years. I am on the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of the IOCDF and have served as faculty for 4 IOCDF BTTI’s. My clinical work and research focus on OCD, Hoarding, and related disorders. I have supervised and taught psychiatry, psychology, and other mental health trainees for 26 years.
