I work specifically with body-focused repetitive behaviors like hair pulling and skin picking. My entire private practice is dedicated to this specialty. OCD is often a co-occurring disorder.
I have been working with BFRBs in many forms since 2015. I ran a group for BFRBs at the Berkeley CBT clinic, have given various presentations at local clinics and my private practice is dedicated to those with Body-focused repetitive behaviors. I am an active member of the TLC organization.
My work is grounded in liberatory and decolonial frameworks that honor each person’s cultural context, history, and lived experience. I strive to create a therapy space that challenges systems of oppression and centers authenticity, empowerment, and collective healing. I identify as an abolitionist and am committed to ongoing self-reflection, education, and action that align with anti-racist and anti-colonial values.
My dissertation examined the intersection of the mental health field and the carceral system, with a focus on cultural competency and systemic inequities in care.
