Narrative of Services:

The Mental Health Club is a New-York based virtual psychotherapy practice that provides secure evidence-based therapy to adults in New York. We see individuals and couples with diverse backgrounds, and we help our clients navigate life’s challenges with clarity, compassion, and real support. We specialize in treating adults with OCD and devote 30–40% of our practice to this work. We also provide evidence-based therapy for anxiety, panic, phobias, and depression, and help clients navigate relationship challenges and major life transitions such as divorce, breakups, job loss, and early parenthood. Our approach combines clinical rigor with warmth, insight, and connection.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as a primary diagnosis or as a co-occurring condition. When OCD is accompanied by comorbid disorders such as depression or anxiety, I use a structured approach that addresses both OCD and the comorbid condition to promote long-term stability. For OCD, I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), often blended with elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based skills. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address co-occurring depression or anxiety. I typically treat OCD and comorbid conditions simultaneously, however, I view treatment planning as collaborative. I involve clients with comorbidities in decisions about treatment prioritization and focus while also clinically assessing whether certain conditions (e.g., moderate to severe depression) should be stabilized prior to beginning ERP.

Training Description:

In the first two years after completing my Master of Social Work at Columbia University, I received advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD through weekly individual clinical case consultation with a psychologist and researcher specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders at NYU Langone. This consultation emphasized evidence-based assessment, case conceptualization, and the precise application of ERP across OCD presentations. Informed by the consultant’s extensive clinical experience and research contributions, it strengthened my ability to deliver ERP with rigor, fidelity, and clinical nuance. I continue to consult with this same specialist on an on-going, as-needed basis.

Diversity Statement:

I have worked with LGBTQIA+ colleagues to ensure LGBTQIA+ competency and affirming care. I also practice from a stance of cultural humility and treat OCD and comorbid concerns across diverse racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

Treatment Groups:

My practice, The Mental Health Club, is in the process of putting together a clinician-facilitated virtual support group for adults managing OCD. The group will have an open enrollment policy so participants can join at anytime. Group sessions will be 45-60 minutes depending on the number of participants.
