Betsy Smith LPC-S
Betsy works in a multidisciplinary clinic, but focuses her clinical practice on helping individuals with OCD and anxiety. She has degrees in Human Development and Family Sciences and in Counseling. She has extensive education and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of clinical issues–many of which may occur alongside OCD and other anxiety disorders. This positions her well to provide effective, evidence-based treatment for OCD, while also attending to the person as a whole.
Betsy attended the Pediatric Behavior Therapy Training Institute through the International OCD Foundation and had the opportunity to participate in consultation meetings with members of the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board. She works with children (as young as 4 years old) as well as adolescents and adults to treat OCD and OC related disorders.
She uses primarily Exposure and Response Prevention, a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, in her work with OCD spectrum disorders. She also incorporates principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into her work.
