Lindsay M. Stewart PhD
Dr. Stewart maintains a private practice in Fort Lauderdale where she specializes in providing evidenced-based treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, mood, OCD, and related disorders. She provides Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-directed protocol for treating childhood anxiety and OCD. Dr. Stewart also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques and skills from the Unified Treatment Protocols, a transdiagnostic CBT approach.
Dr. Stewart also specializes in treating anxiety and mood disorders, which often occur with OCD. Her treatment approach is CBT-based. She often uses the adult and child versions of the Unified Protocol, which is a transdiagnostic treatment approach for generalized anxiety, panic, depression, or when there is a combination of emotional symptoms.
Dr. Stewart received her undergraduate and master’s degrees in psychology from Tulane University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She completed a specialized, two-year postdoctoral residency at the University of Miami in their child and adult anxiety programs. Dr. Stewart also completed the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) through IOCDF for pediatric OCD. Additionally, she has served as the Interim Clinical Director of the Anxiety Treatment Center at Nova Southeastern University, and the Secretary of OCD Central and South Florida (IOCDF Affiliate).
