Training Description:
Before graduate school I was a Community Residence counselor at the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital for several years. During my doctoral training I worked at various levels of care treating children and adolescents. Before joining CBTeam I worked at NYU/Bellevue Hospital as the psychologist and Unit Director of an adolescent inpatient unit treating severe presentations of mood, anxiety, OCD, and self-injurious behaviors.
Diversity Statement:
At Bellevue Hospital in New York City, I provided psychological treatment to a diverse population of children and adolescents facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. My work focused on culturally responsive care, honoring the unique experiences of each young person. Patients came from richly varied ethnic backgrounds and represented a broad spectrum of gender identities. I created a safe, affirming space for exploration and healing, integrating evidence-based interventions with a trauma-informed lens. This experience deepened my clinical skills and reinforced the importance of individualized, inclusive care in supporting youth in an urban public hospital setting.
During my doctoral training at Palo Alto University in California, I received extensive education in evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and families. This foundation was strengthened through advanced clinical training at the NYU Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital in New York City, where I worked with youth from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Across these settings, I gained specialized experience in treating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and behavioral challenges, using approaches grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy and family systems. These experiences have prepared me to deliver compassionate, developmentally informed, and culturally responsive care in high-acuity clinical environments.
