Narrative of Services:

Over the past 6 years I have worked with 20 + individuals (adults, children and youth) both in office and in-home. I have found it much more effective to work on an outreach basis.

Substance abuse is the most common co-occurring disorder that I have worked with. I work closely with a medical professional in this situations.

Training Description:

I have been treating persons with OCD for the past 7 years since completing BTTI. My practise is now almost exclusively committed to OCD treatment. We have developed a continuum of service with starts with intensive ERP work, but in many cases moves into social support services provided by others on the team that has recently developed. We currently have two groups of 2 or 3 members, who work together on ERP exercises together, providing mutual support.

Diversity Statement:

At Counselling Psychology Group, we are dedicated to cultural competence and inclusion. Our mission is to provide exceptional care with a specialized focus on OCD treatment, ensuring our services are accessible and sensitive to diverse cultural backgrounds. We collaborate with specialized fields, recognizing and addressing the challenges of comorbidities associated with OCD, and constantly strive to learn and stay up-to-date in facilitating the best options for individuals.

With a primary focus on OCD treatment for the past 10 years post-BTTI completion, I bring extensive experience. Our practice prioritizes cultural competency, with a focus on ongoing education. I lead comprehensive training, supervising Sanaa Sanjad, a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC #2611 & 2146) with ACCT. Sanaa has undergone specific courses tailored to OCD. Collaborating with Dr. Michael Lloyd, we emphasize ongoing education and training in cultural competency, ensuring effective support for diverse populations. Our commitment extends to a comprehensive service continuum, encompassing CBT, intensive ERP work, and social support services, fostering mutual support among clients.

I have substantial experience collaborating with First Nations communities and have dedicated numerous years to supporting impoverished and marginalized youth and families. Additionally, I provide services for gay, bisexual, and transgender populations.
