Narrative of Services:
My practice provides specialized assessment and treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety disorders, with a strong focus on adolescents and young adults. A majority of my clinical work involves individuals with OCD. Treatment is evidence-based and centered on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
When OCD co-occurs with anxiety, mood, neurodevelopmental, or substance use disorders, treatment remains grounded in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Co-occurring symptoms are addressed only as needed to support engagement in ERP and reduce interference with exposure work. ACT and DBT-informed strategies may be used to support regulation and reduce avoidance, without shifting focus away from OCD.
Training Description:
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with focused experience treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in public mental health and private practice settings. I have provided assessment and treatment for adolescents and adults with diverse OCD presentations. My training emphasizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), supported by ACT and mindfulness-based approaches. I engage in ongoing consultation and continuing education related to OCD and anxiety disorders.
Diversity Statement:
Clinical work is approached with respect, curiosity, and an awareness of how culture, family dynamics, identity, and social context shape mental health and access to care. Attention is given to creating a space that feels safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental, particularly for individuals who may have felt misunderstood or unheard in previous treatment. Care is adapted to fit each person’s unique values, lived experience, and goals.
Experience working with diverse populations has been developed through public mental health and youth treatment settings. Training includes Gathering Our Medicine (Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre), which focused on Indigenous perspectives, relational approaches, and culturally responsive care. Additional experience includes crisis assessment and intervention with youth and families from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, supported by training in suicide and self-harm assessment, DBT, CBT, and risk assessment frameworks. This background informs an approach that is adaptable, respectful, and attentive to individual and cultural context.
