Narrative of Services:
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and the director of the Center for CBT & Therapeutic Healing in King of Prussia, PA. I specialize in the treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders, and phobias. Approximately 85% of my clients have an OCD or OC related diagnosis. I provide individual therapy and parent sessions using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Training Description:
I obtained my doctorate in clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. This is an APA-accredited program where the curriculum focused on CBT. Being in the Philadelphia area, I had the opportunity to train at renowned clinics for CBT and ERP. I completed my practicum at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Cognitive Therapy, where I learned how to implement CBT. I completed my second practicum at the University of Pennsylvania Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, where I learned how to implement ERP and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).
Diversity Statement:
Training in the Philadelphia area, I had the opportunity to work with people from a variety of backgrounds. I have treated clients with many different financial, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. During my schooling, I worked with my many clients who identify as LGBTQIA+. My internship was completed at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, where I was also able to work with veterans and learn about military culture.
During graduate school, my program provided training on cultural competency. I took electives that focused on treating clients who identify as LGBTQIA+. My training at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center allowed me to gain ample experience working with veterans and people of minority backgrounds. My internship program focused heavily on teaching cultural competency and provided trainings weekly on how to be a culturally sensitive practitioner. I learned strategies to address racism, sexism, and discrimination that may arise during treatment.
