Narrative of Services:
I have specialized in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to treat OCD and related conditions in children, teens and adults for over 25 years, and am licensed in the states of New York and North Carolina. My approach emphasizes wellness, building treatment readiness, and working collaboratively as a team with clients and families.
I developed the Worry Hill approach to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for children and teens with anxiety and OCD. I am an international speaker and have provided training workshops for clinicians and school professionals, as well as parenting workshops for families since 1998. I have been a faculty trainer for the IOCDF’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), which trains therapists to treat OCD, since 2000. I am the author of several books and professional resource kits including, Worried No More: Help and Hope for Anxious Children, Up and Down the Worry Hill: A Children’s Book about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and its Treatment, What to do when your Child has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Strategies and Solutions, and Treatment of OCD in Children and Adolescents: A Professional’s Kit. I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Iowa, completed my internship at the Yale University Child Study Center, and postdoctoral fellowship at the Brown University Bradley Hospital.
