Sara Watts LCPC, CADC, LMHC
I am licensed in both Il and NY. In my private practice, I primarily offer individual therapy, with the provision of family therapeutic support as needed. An average of 50% of my clients present with OCD or related disorders. 95% present with a clinically significant anxiety disorder. 90% of my clients are treated for co-occurring disorders. I see clients both in person in my Evanston office and via telehealth for those with that preference, as well as my New York-based clients.
– Eating Disorders
– Substance Use Disorders
– Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder
– Autism and ADHD Spectrum Disorders
– LGBTQ+ specialized issues and concerns
– Generalized and Social Anxiety Disorders
– Depression
My treatment structure is integrative and includes collaborative treatment planning to conjunctively address symptoms across diagnoses. Routine referral to and collaboration with outside team providers (i.e. Nutritionists, Psychiatrists, Community-Based Support Groups).
Prior to opening my private practice, I worked in higher levels of care treating patients presenting with frequently co-occurring OCD. I was first exposed to ERP training while serving at a primary SUD treatment program based in and throughout Chicagoland. I then received specialized ERP training in treating co-occurring OCD within a primary ED treatment program also based in and throughout Chicago. I also participated in the monthly OCD Midwest consultation group for 5 years followed by participation in a smaller break-out OCD-specific consultation group entirely composed of BTTI-certified members. I have also completed the IOCDF’s BTTI-certification.
On average 25% of my clients are non-white, representing a great diversity of ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and including foreign-born and first generation US citizens.
I have been intentional to prioritize culturally-diversified training in order to competently and sensitively serve a diverse client population. I am notably experienced in working with the East Asian, Jewish, and LGBTQ+ populations. I have also received extensive training from the Religious Trauma Institute.
