Timothy J. Weymann LCSW
Psychotherapist - Private Practice Owner
I’ve been a private practice practitioner since 2012. 10% of my private practice, consists of clients with O.C.D. I offer Exposure and Response Prevention therapy (C.B.T.) as well as concurrent family therapy to support the therapy and recovery, if helpful and desired. I treat all forms of O.C.D., with special insight in treating scrupulosity and sex and sexual taboo obsessions; as well as harm/violence obsessions.
I’ve been in the mental health field for 17 years and independently licensed to practice psychotherapy since 12 years; approximately 10% of my clients have been those with O.C.D. I was trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the University of Utah (in Graduate School in 2007-2009) and have post-graduate training in ERP through the Cognitive Behavior Institute. I have been educated in a past IOCDF Conference & will be attending the IOCDF conference again this year (2024).
I have special training and long-term experience of working with the LGBTQ population who have compromised approximately 50% of my private practice caseload since 2009. I also have special insight and experience working with the chronically ill population. My practice has an extravagant welcome and is culturally open, humble and sensitive.
I was given multicultural and diversity training (gender, class, race, nationality/ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, ability-status/disability, etc.) through the duration of my graduate program at The University of Utah from 2007-2009. I also taught the course, “Social Health and Diversity” (a multiculturalism course for health students) that addressed prejudice, bias and discrimination as related to working with minorities and marginalized populations at Salt Lake Community College for 5 years (2010 – 2015) and was a recurrent guest speaker at The University of Utah for healthcare majors in other courses on the topic of serving the gay, lesbian and bisexual population.
