L. David Willison IV MD, PhD
Approximately 15% of my patients are youths or adults with OCD. However, 60% of my patients have other anxiety disorders (listed in “Training Description”), and/or co-occurring disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorders, ADD/ADHD, or Substance Use Disorders. The remaining 25% of my patients have ADD/ADHD.
The “gold-standard” treatment for OCD and other anxiety disorders (such as Social Phobia, Panic, GAD, PTSD, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Trichotillomania, hoarding,Tics, etc.) is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy plus Exposure Response Prevention (CBT-ERP). I have been using CBT-ERP to successfully treat OCD/anxiety disorders since 2010.
I addition to my private practice, I’m an attending physician in the Anxiety Disorders Section at the West LA VA.
My undergraduate work was completed at MIT, and then I completed my MD & PhD at UCSF, then completed my residency and child.adolescent fellowship at UCLA, Westwood.
I often work with LGBTQ patients.
