Narrative of Services:
My style is warm, active, present-oriented, and focused on clear goals. I use methods with scientific support for their effectiveness, and my approach is cognitive-behavioral. I emphasize a collaborative relationship, and encourage my clients to take on a very active role in their treatments. The majority of my practice is people with OCD, panic disorder, and social anxiety. The gold standard treatments for these include exposure and response prevention and cognitive restructuring. Those are the interventions I use. I systematically track progress and seek feedback, and use this information to refine treatment and optimize success for the people I work with.
Since 1997, I have received ongoing and extensive training in OCD treatment, including from several members of the IOCDF's Scientific Advisory Board. My dissertation (completed in 2001) was on OCD treatment, and I have maintained my interest in this disorder ever since. I update my skills regularly through consultation, literature review, and workshops. A good portion of my patients struggle with OCD.
