CMHA OCD and Hoarding Services
Meeting Information:
CMHA OCD and Hoarding Services (formally OCD Centre Manitoba) was founded in 1995 and began with volunteers who wanted to distribute information and resources on OCD to individuals, families, and health professionals. Over the years, the program has grown to offer support and services for both OCD and hoarding disorders. In 2020, the OCD Centre became partners with Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Manitoba and Winnipeg to enhance its’ resources. The program offers various groups and programs for people experiencing OCD or hoarding disorder, which include general peer support groups, action groups (e.g., exposure groups for OCD or decluttering groups for hoarding), and treatment groups (e.g., clinician-led groups, Buried in Treasures). Community educational programming around OCD and Hoarding is also available for family, friends, and professionals. Meeting locations vary depending on the program and may be offered in-person, online, or in-home (for hoarding).
The peer support and action groups are drop-in and can be joined immediately with no waitlists. Treatment groups and other structured programs typically do not have waitlists, though they may have specific entry times or are offered infrequently and thus may include a waiting period (typically less than 3 months) before starting.
