OCD affects nearly 240 million people worldwide, impacting individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and identities. At the IOCDF, we acknowledge the additional barriers many face in accessing care—barriers often shaped by racial or ethnic identity, gender, or geographic location. This Women’s History Month, we’re honored to spotlight resources and stories from women living with OCD, clinicians advancing care for women, and loved ones supporting those affected by the disorder.
Resources for Women with OCD:
- Perinatal Resource Center – Learn about OCD during pregnancy and postpartum.
- Moms with OCD Special Interest Group – A community of support for mothers navigating OCD.
This Women’s History Month, we honor the legacy of Patricia Perkins, a true pioneer in the OCD community and a founding member of the International OCD Foundation. Her vision, compassion, and dedication to advocacy transformed the landscape of OCD awareness and support, ensuring that individuals and families never have to navigate this journey alone. Learn more about Patricia’s remarkable contributions and lasting impact.

Partner Spotlight
The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health (formerly known as 2020 Mom) is a nonprofit partner whose mission is to close gaps in maternal mental health care. The IOCDF has been proud to call the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health a partner since June 2020, when we begin working together on our collaborative Perinatal OCD Task Force. This partnership has resulted in the creation of the free online Perinatal OCD Resource Center, several professional conference presentations, more training opportunities, and ongoing support for those living with perinatal OCD. We are thrilled to see the existing and continued positive impact on women, birthing people, and parents with OCD, and are excited to see what else we may accomplish together. Learn more about the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health.
