Anxiety Center of Tampa
Anxiety Center of Tampa empowers clients to move from a life of fear and avoidance to a life lived in accordance with their values and goals. Our co-founders Lori Aitken, LMHC and Mary Eugenia-Brizuela, LMHC met while working as Behavioral Specialists at Rogers Behavioral Health in Tampa under the training and supervision of Dr. Eric Storch, an internationally recognized leader in the treatment of OCD. They are both graduates of IOCDF’s Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and Lori is the Assistant Treasurer of IOCDF’s Central and South Florida chapter.
Mary and Lori founded Anxiety Center of Tampa in 2019 with the mission of providing high-quality individualized treatment for clients with OCD and other anxiety-related disorders. The Center provides traditional outpatient treatment including individual, couples, family and group therapy. Intensive treatment options are also available.
Each of the Center’s clinicians has received advanced training supervision in the treatment of OCD and related disorders. In addition, the Center has clinicians with specialized experience in the treatment of eating disorders, PTSD and military issues, depression and substance abuse.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
All clients are preliminarily screened for the presence of co-occurring disorders as part of the initial phone call and intake paperwork. Where appropriate, clients are assigned to clinicians with expertise in clients co-occurring disorder. If the clinician, in consultation with others in the practice, feels that the client’s issues are outside the scope of competency, referrals will be made to other providers.
