Description:

At Atlanta CBT, our experienced licensed clinical psychologists and therapists provide specialized, evidence-based therapy in Atlanta, GA (Inman Park on the Beltline), Richmond, VA (in the Fan neighborhood), and via secure telehealth in 42+ PSYPACT participating states.

Our work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the most researched and effective treatments for anxiety and OCD.

CBT is sometimes described as rigid. That is not how we practice. We integrate CBT with ERP and ACT to build psychological flexibility — the ability to respond skillfully to difficult thoughts and emotions while taking meaningful, values-based action in the face of uncertainty. The goal is not simply reducing symptoms. It is helping you build a life that is larger than your fear.

We are former and current clinical researchers, and we remain closely aligned with advances in psychological science so your care is rigorous, modern, and effective.

We are broadly trained clinical psychologists and therapists with advanced areas of specialization. This allows us to treat the whole person while providing expert care for specific concerns:

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders, including PANS/PANDAS
  • Body-focused repetitive disorders (nail biting, hair pulling, skin picking)
  • Anxiety (social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, health anxiety)
  • Insomnia
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Depression
  • Substance use and non-judgmental support around changing drinking or drug use
  • “Failure to launch” parent consultation and support
  • Adjustment to illness, chronic pain, and injury
  • Major life transitions, career, and parenting stress
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

All clinicians are LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to culturally responsive care. Therapy is centered on you, a human being in context.

Atlanta CBT is a psychologist-owned private pay practice built around focused, attentive care. Much of modern mental health treatment is volume-based, insurance-dictated, and increasingly technology-centered. Clinicians are often required to move quickly, follow strict coverage rules, and manage large caseloads.

We work differently.

We intentionally maintain low caseloads so we can be prepared, thoughtful, and fully present. Clinical decisions are guided by research, professional judgment, and your goals, not quotas, corporate metrics, or insurance limitations.

When you contact us, you are carefully matched with a therapist whose expertise aligns with your needs. We take the time to understand your goals and the complexity of your life.

You can expect clarity and thoughtful challenge alongside warmth, steadiness, and respect. This is possible within a relationship that is confidential, collaborative, and emotionally attuned.

Our aim is simple: to help you build the psychological flexibility needed to live meaningfully in an uncertain world. You get to choose what that looks like.
